I used to get really excited for my birthday... but this year I really don't want it to come!! I don't know why turning 30 is completely freaking me out. I've had people tell me 30 is still part of your 20's.... nice try, They've said at least your not turning 40.... no kidding, And one of my favorites... 30 IS the new 20... yeah right!! People who say that are 30 or older... We say things to make us feel younger... but the truth is we're all getting older... So I'm off to my pity party!! Where I'll sit until the dreaded day arrives (only 4 more days... UGH!!)

I too am not HAPPY at all about being 30! I still have a few months but I have been freaking out since January about it! So at least your not alone! I am tooo young to be 30!!! HAHAHA! I hope you "survive" your big day, I will need any advice you have to give!
I won't sugar coat it for ya Becky, YOU'RE OLD! :) Ah, I only kid. I think the trick to sanity is denial. My mom always told me she was 16 until I told me teacher and my teacher sent me home in tears because she didn't believe me. My mom then realized the error of her ways and told me the truth.. That she was really 19. See what I mean? Now you know my momma well enough to know she dosen't act like a 53 year old, so I am sticking with the theory that denial and insanity keep you young, so keep fighting it!
You're not the only one freaking out. That's all I've been thinking about lately (see my blog for details). I think the problem is that some of us will always be young at heart and so a young at heart person just doesn't seem to fit in an old body.
Or in my case it just isn't as socially acceptable to be immature and a little crazy when you are in your 30s. It however becomes socially acceptable again in your 80s so I can't wait for that.
Have a HAPPY BIRTHDAY and do something FUN!
I have always been told (by my brother) that I was a huge weird-o, but I was totally pumped about turning 30. I say PARTY ON DUDE!
Don't freak out. Plan a fun day and embrace it!

You are not alone! I HATED turning 30 even though it is just a number as my husband keeps telling me. However, I feel that my youth just went out the window! My Grandma gave me permission to cry all day (that it made her feel better) Ha! So ya I am not going to lie it totally sucks and now that I have been 30 for 4 months it still sucks! I love ya and hope you have an awesome birthday! Oh ya, go ahead and cry it does make you feel better! :)
I don't know if I will freak out or not...but you try it on for me until my turn in July. ;)

It is weird when you start having to say the words "I'm 30." it doen't really sound right when it comes out. I guess that just means we are still just young at heart driving a Honda to hair school listening to Toby Keith with the odometer unplugged so you don't rack up the miles...he, he. The good ol' days really are old now! Happy Birthday...by the way congrats on the 10 year celebration too!
I think the thought of 30 is much stranger than actually turning 30. Ya wake up, ya do your thing, and you still feel the same! So if ya feel young now, you are going to still feel young tomorrow!!
Just keep eating cheetos and popsicles and you will never FEEL 30!!
